Ministry to women at Christ the King is very active, involving both church members and women from the local area. The main two groups are WEFT and Manna.
Each year we hold a conference in January to be a blessing and resourcing for women from Kettering and further afield.
MANNA is a bible study group where women of all ages can find nourishment from God’s Word and encouragement from one another to grow Deeper in Discipleship, Closer in Friendship and Further in Partnership.
We meet on Tuesdays at 9:15-11:10am in the worship area. Crèche available.
Manna: Who we are and What we do: Manna is more than a Bible Study group: it is a place of belonging, a place to ask questions, a place to share joys and sorrows and to give and receive encouragement. We hope you will find it an oasis in a busy week, where the truth of the bible is opened up and God shines his light into your life. Come to worship, dig into the Bible, pray, chat, drink coffee, build friendships, discover more about yourself, your gifts and the One who loves you and has a plan and purpose for your life.
Crèche: We aim to have a crèche in rooms 4/5 which is manned by a team of ladies on a rota . If your child doesn’t like to separate from you, there will be toys also set out in Room 6.
Prayer Ministry: Many of us have found it hugely helpful to be prayed with by women who are part of the prayer ministry team at church. It doesn’t have to be something major, but it might be. Sometimes, as we dig into the Bible together, things may come up that you feel you could do with praying through in more depth. Please speak to Jane or one of the team to find out more.
Groups: These work like Roots groups. In other words, you join the one you want to and when it gets too big we’ll look at multiplying it into two groups.

WEFT (Women Enjoying Friendship Together) is a group that meets on Monday evenings at 7pm – 9pm at Christ the King. The group is for both church members and those in the wider community and includes various crafts, a reading group and a healthy living group.
WEFT – who are we & what do we do?
In a weaving, the vertical threads that form the framework are called the warp and the horizontal ones that are woven in and out, are called the weft.
When Weft started six years ago, we envisioned a group for church and community, where lives of women were woven together- with Jesus providing the framework thread. This is what has happened, by the grace of God, with a beautiful warm group that loves to welcome new women. Women have come with a real passion for making and others who just like to come and have a go. Some teach us their skills, others add to the group just by being there. Including the Reading group, we have nearly 40 regular members of which about 20-30 attend the craft sessions.
It is a great group to bring someone to. Maybe you’d love to spend time with a daughter(16+), your mum or sister or a friend or neighbour? Why not come with them and enjoy relaxing Monday evenings together. We’d love you to come and join us!
WEFT is a group of women who get together on Monday nights. As you can see from the programme, we spend a lot of time making things but also have other activities from time to time. Although we enjoy making things, the real draw to come to Weft is because of being together: chatting, laughing and sometimes crying. It is a safe place and a place of warmth and welcome. It is a church- based group, but designed for all, about half of our members come to Christ the King and half either don’t go to church or go to other churches.
Each evening we close with a few minutes reflection and anyone who would like prayer for themselves or a friend or loved one, tells us and we pray for them. You are welcome to stay or leave for this part of the evening.
