During this time where we have all been asked to engage in social distancing because of the COVID-19 virus all our regular services and activities in the church building are suspended. We are hoping to connect with you in new ways, one of which will be regular videos and live services through our YouTube Channel (Christ the King, Kettering).
We meet every Sunday at Christ the King on Deeble Road, NN15 7AA. It helps to get there 5-10 minutes before the service to get a parking spot and a seat in time for the start. The services follow a general pattern that sometimes changes during holiday periods; any change will be posted below and on social media.

Worship is central to our life together, giving an opportunity to respond to God’s love for us. It is seen in all that we do day by day. Dress is casual. We focus more on the person than what they look like. We have people of all ages and backgrounds, including a large number of children and young people. We are very tolerant of them wandering about and joining in and we love them to be involved. We are easy going about how people express their emotions during worship. Extempore prayer is common. Words are projected onto a large screen and Bibles are available at the back of the church for use. Seating is on chairs.
The whole family begin the service together for the first 20 minutes and then the children go to their groups for about an hour, returning for the final few minutes of the service.
Prayer Ministry is available at all services.
Coffee, tea and soft drinks (& often biscuits!) are provided after each morning service.
Our worship in song is led by very able and spirit-filled musicians. Each service has its own music group so the worship may be quite different at each, however the same sermon is delivered at both morning services. The style of worship is modern and lively with some use of Common Worship liturgy. The music groups usually include keyboard, guitar, brass, woodwind, percussion and singers. There is no organ.
Children & Young People
Children stay in the service every 2nd Sunday of the month (All Age Worship) as these services are aimed at the whole church family. These services are under 1 hour and there is a room available set up as a creche if parents want to take their young children out of the service at any time. Children leave for their own activities on all other weeks after a time of worship altogether.
We offer groups for children of all ages at both of our morning services. These groups are an opportunity for the children to grow in their own faith in Jesus and to build good relationships with their peers and the adults who lead the groups. Each session includes fun, games, snacks, drinks and activities around a biblical theme.
The 6.30pm service is a more informal opportunity than the morning services to gather in worship and to respond to what God is saying to us. The Evening Worship services include Holy Communion once a month, and a Youth-Led Service once a month.
Other Worship Opportunities
This takes place in the small groups, such as Roots Groups and Manna, which are in the church or people’s homes. There is also a communion service at the church at 10.00am on Wednesdays.
