We want to see young people grow present and accountable relationships with each other, with their peers and the adults around them, accepting all young people for who they are and how they act. We believe that God has a plan for every young person and pray for them to discover that plan.
Andy
heads up our Youth Ministry with the direct support of
Chris
our student youth worker and an amazing team of volunteers!
Each week our vision is worked out in three different ways as we continue to develop and grow our mission to young people and the team that serves them each week:
Youth Roots
is a place for young people to develop and grow in their faith, leadership skills, gifts, and abilities while being rooted in God's Word, living out their faith in Jesus wholeheartedly. Supported by mentors, prayer and leaders to discover what God can do in and through them. It takes place in Room 3 during the morning services at 9.00am and 11.00 am every Sunday during term time. It's for young people in secondar
y school.
As young people mature in their faith they are encouraged to find a place to serve within the wider church family, often on a Sunday Morning in children's groups, reading, the welcome team, the audio-visual team, and many other areas.
Fridays at CtK
is a high impact, fun, energetic group with games, activities and trips that help young people develop stronger relationships and to build trust, understanding and respect of others.
It meets weekly during term time from 7.15pm to 8.45pm for secondary school aged young people.
Huddles
are groups of 2 or 3 young people that meet with a mentor weekly/fortnightly. They meet at various points throughout the week, during Friday groups or in a local café. It's a place for young people to be challenged, ask tough questions and cheer each other on as they seek to live out Jesus-shaped lives.
Every year as a group we attend
Soul Survivor
, a week full of amazing teaching and worship with space to encounter the Holy Spirit. Anyone in Year 9 or above is welcome to come along - there's plenty to do and who wouldn't want to be able to camp and have a roast dinner with all the trimmings?!
